Report on Fitness Week Celebration 2019

DAY 1 (15-11-19)

As part of the Fitness Week Celebration 2019 Sanjos Public School organised Yoga Practice on the first day. Children were taken to the Assembly hall, section wise, and the instructor demonstrated to them different ‘Asanas’ and they practiced it.

DEBATE

DAY 2 (18-11-19)   

In order to create awareness about the importance of physical fitness amongst the students a debate was held. The topic of the debate was ‘’Physical Education in schools cater to the mental development of the students’’. The participants were very active from the beginning till the end. Both the teams put forward convincing  arguments . The audience also participated actively. The motion was passed by a large majority of votes. Bhavya Raju of class XI was declared as the best debater.

POSTER DESIGN

DAY 3 (19-11-19)   

The topic for the poster design competition was Fit Body – Fit Mind – Fit Environment. After the competition, the creations were exhibited and the best poster was awarded.

ROPE SKIPPING

DAY 4 (20-11-19)   

During P.E period the students practiced rope skipping. After the practice, class wise competitions were held. The students who performed the maximum number of skipping were selected as the winners and they were awarded.

DAY 5 (21-11-19)   

An interhouse quiz competition was arranged in connection with the Fitness Week Celebration. After the housewise  screening, one team from each house represented by two students participated in the quiz. There were five rounds of questions. It was a very thrilling competition and all the teams actively involved in it. The best team was awarded.

DAY 6 (22-11-19)

The sports meet was organised by the Sanjos Sports Club. It was a whole day programme.  It started with the colourful  March Past.  Athletics  were held in the forenoon session and afternoon house wise games were conducted.  Rolling Trophies were given to the Cock house and Runner up. Indigenous sports selected from the partner state was Gilli-Danda. It was an activity which fostered the feeling of togetherness and unity amongst the students.

An Inter- hub Volleyball Tournament was also conducted on the same day. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyala  Kottayam, Lourdes Public School & Jr. College  Kottayam, St. John The Baptist’s Eng. School  Nedumkunnam, Lisieux  English School  Vaikom and our team participated in it. Hon’ble  Shri. Mani C Kappen MLA was the chief guest for the valedictory ceremony
